Dental Care for Undeserved Communities
The dental service provided during our missions is made possible by volunteer dentists and surgeons from across the country. Many of them travel long distances or take time away from their own clinics so they can serve their fellow countrymen. Their dedication allows families with limited access to dental care to finally receive the help they need.
In the communities we visit, many people are forced to place daily necessities above oral health. Putting food on the table often comes before a dental checkup. Others simply cannot afford treatment. For many, a medical mission is the only chance they have to see a dentist, and it may take another five to ten years before another mission reaches their area.
Because of this, most of the procedures performed are extractions. Some patients arrive with severe decay, infections, or swelling that require immediate removal of the affected tooth to stop the pain and prevent further complications. When possible, our team also provides cleaning, preventive care, and pain assessments. Each person receives a full evaluation, and urgent needs are addressed on the spot so they can finally experience relief after years of waiting.
Our purpose is simple. When people cannot reach the care they need, the care comes to them.
